These are the terms for using Mayzee. Like PRIVACY.md, this is written by the people who make it rather than by the mascot, and in the same register: if a sentence here is unclear, that is a bug in this page and we would rather fix the page than send you a clarification.

Using Mayzee — opening a trip link, tapping your name, or installing the app — means these terms apply to you.
Mayzee is a shared notepad for organising a group holiday. It is not a travel agent, not a tour operator, and not a payment service. Nothing you do in Mayzee books anything, pays for anything, or moves any money. Everything it shows you is a record of what you and your friends typed in, arranged so the group can act on it.
The trip is yours. We just hold the paper.
This is the most important section on the page, so it is near the top rather than at the bottom in small type.
It is not a booking. Adding a flight to the Travel timeline does not book a flight. Putting a villa on the plan does not reserve a villa. Nothing in Mayzee creates a contract between you and an airline, a hotel, a venue or anybody else, and nothing in it is covered by ATOL or ABTA, because there is no package and no booking to cover.
It is not a payment service. Mayzee does not move money and does not hold it. Every number in the Money tab is a record of a promise: who paid for the boat, what everyone owes, what each person says they have put aside. Pledges are promises between you and your friends, not obligations to us and not something we will collect. Settling up happens between you, in whatever app you already use.
It is not advice. Two features look like advice and are not:
It is not a guarantee that the trip happens. That part is still you.
Three things in the app do not come from the group:
None of the three is checked by a human before you see it.
There is no sign-up to join a trip, no password and no email address. That is the product working as intended, and two things follow from it that you should know before you rely on it:
We cannot tell who you are. If you lose the link, we have no way to look up "your" trips, because nothing connects you to them. Keep the link.
The share link is the lock, and it is a deliberately weak one. Anyone who has the link can open the trip, claim a name on it, add things and change things. That is right for "add a restaurant" and wrong for anything you would mind a stranger seeing, so do not post a trip link anywhere public. PRIVACY.md explains exactly how far that goes, including the parts we cannot fence off.
The organiser can do two things nobody else can: turn voting off, and change where the trip is going after the group has answered. Whoever created the trip is the organiser, and in practice that means whoever is holding the device that created it.
It stays yours. You keep whatever rights you have in the names, plans, expenses and photos you add. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people on that trip, and to nobody else — that is the whole of the licence, and it ends when the content is deleted.
You are responsible for what you add about other people. Adding your friends means typing their names, their flight times and what they owe. Only do that for people who are actually coming on the trip and would expect to be on it. Do not put anyone's passport details, medical information or anything else sensitive into a free-text field — the app never asks for them, and a field you typed them into is not protected by our not asking.
Photos. The scrapbook is for photographs of your trip. Do not upload photographs of people who would object to being in it, anything illegal, or anything you do not have the right to post. We will remove content when we are told about it and we may remove a trip outright if it is being used for something it plainly should not be.
Mayzee is new. It will have bugs, it will change, and features described on the website today may work differently or not exist next month.
We do not promise that the service will be available, that it will be available at any particular time, or that nothing will be lost. There is no service level agreement, because there is no fee and we are not going to pretend to an obligation we cannot meet. Keep anything you genuinely cannot lose — a booking reference, a flight number, a confirmation email — where you would have kept it anyway.
Nothing is deleted on a schedule today, and that is written up honestly in PRIVACY.md along with what we will delete when you ask.
Mayzee is free to use today, and joining a trip will always be free — that is the point of it. If a paid tier is introduced later, it will be described plainly before anyone is asked for anything, and it will never make a trip somebody has already joined stop working.
Mayzee is not designed for children and is not aimed at them. Do not use it if you are under 13. If a child's first name is on a family trip, that is a first name and an RSVP, and you can ask us to remove it.
You can stop using Mayzee at any time by closing the tab or deleting the app. PRIVACY.md sets out how to have a whole trip deleted, or one person erased from a trip that carries on without them.
We can suspend or remove a trip if it is being used to break the law, to harass somebody, or in a way that puts the service or other people's data at risk. We will say why unless we are not allowed to.
Mayzee is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties, and we are not liable for the trip going wrong: a missed flight, a booking nobody made, a bill split in a way the group later disagrees with, or money that did not change hands. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if you are using Mayzee as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
